I hate Professional Development

So I am producing a mahara page for a Professional Development module at uni... and I thought the Human Resource Management essay was bad.

I need to sell myself. Do you find it hard to say how amazing you are and how the reader should totally just employ you right this second? You might be super ambitious but what makes you different from the million other ambitious students aspiring to be the next Gossip Girl? (is that even right? I've never watched it as I'm more of an Eastenders girl myself) Well basically I am struggling to make my e-portfolio look anything other than average? I wouldn't be too bothered if it wasn't one of the actual deliverables for the module.

How can someone stand out from a dull university set online page? Isn't this the reason why fashion blogs have developed so much? Everyone wants to work in fashion. Everyone can write a blog.

I wonder what the fashion blog equivalent is in the world of marine biology or maths?

In actual interesting news my international friend Popo managed to get a Lanvin hearts H&M t-shirt from the Regent Street store. Old news now I know... but I've a new reason for wanting to be an XS.

Hello..... Tom Ford!

OMG

After totally bitchin' on my Lanvin disaster look!
 Science of Style

Thanks Amelia (via Twitter)

Please let this be totally real....

Hello

So....

1. Took over a month to finally get internet installed thanks to the last person who lived in my apartment and her inability to pay her bills and the clever idea of BT who thought it was clever to not allow me internet until said previous person fixed up....

2. I got paid early by work on the day of the Lanvin <3's H&M launch but tried to pass it off as I didn't care much about the collection as I was bitter about having no money until payday to queue up in the Bullring with other sad girls obviously cool people and get in on the action. Although all the time I actually had money in my account. Thanks work.

3. I have far too much uni work, not enough time to do it. But am not too bothered as I had the best trend presentation today at work with a buyer from head office. It was actually like a class lecture. So technically this is studying?

Phew,
HELLO AGAIN INTERNET! (i love you please don't leave me again)

I am so proud to say this is no longer me

I love this image from Dazed Digital this morning.

New Look shame on you

Why we do itWe believe in giving everyone involved in our supply chain an opportunity to live a decent life. We want our customers and our staff to feel good about New Look’s products and how they are sourced. We believe in raising the profile of what fashion retailers are doing in ethical trade.

Shame this is not true...
Fashion's Dirty Secret really shocked me. I was expecting another report on Third World countries being home to High Street/'fast fashion' production. Not £2.50 per hour jobs in Leicester sewing on labels for New Look products that were 'Made in Moldova' when they were made here. I didn't realise Moldova was an area in Leicester?

It makes me a bit sad to aspire to want to work in this industry. I wish I could do something to change this as it makes me so sad :(

p.s I am toying between Tumblr and here! omg decisons......

Follow my blog with bloglovin

Day one.

After going to see the hilarious Josie Long last week in Wolverhampton I have decided to have a go at her 100 Days To Make Me A Better Person project. Ok, so I am about 9 months late but 9 months ago I was definitely stressing about my Buying and Merchandising module and totally re evaluating why I picked my course. I am going to try and blog everyday. This is useful to me so I can look back and find clues on what I want to do post graduation or even if I remember what presents I brought last year for birthdays, Christmas etc so I don't make the faux pas of buying everyone the same thing in a different colour. (I nearly brought boyfriend a navy Paul Smith check shirt before remembering last year I got him the brown version...)

So Day One.
My nails broke off yesterday (well I sorted of picked at them when watching SAW 3D, literally nail biting I suppose)

They have lost a bit of the sparkle now anyway since I did a bit of fingerpainting with inks in my printed textile class last Friday.

Off to get ready now ( I have work 5-9:( ) and lust over the Lanvin hearts H&M collection to however much my rubbish Blackberry internet will let me.
